The process
A structured route from job evidence to bids
REFUR.BID keeps the job information, questions, specification versions and bid details in one place, while leaving decisions with customers and builders.
For customers
Record the work once, then manage the information that builders use.
- 01
Create a job
Add the title, category, property type, postcode district, occupancy, preferred start date, budget or “Not sure”, access, parking, materials, and any planning, freeholder or building-control notes. The full address is kept private.
- 02
Follow guided capture
Use the category checklist to capture the relevant videos, photographs, measurements and notes.
- 03
Review the specification
Review the structured draft, correct it where needed and keep a versioned record of changes.
- 04
Check completeness
Use the completeness check to see which useful job details may still be missing before publication.
- 05
Publish the job
Open it to builders and tradespeople approved for the trade, or invite selected ones only.
- 06
Answer questions
Respond to tradespeople’s structured questions, keeping answers alongside the approved job information.
- 07
Compare bids and shortlist
Compare the submitted bid structure and shortlist or award the builder or tradesperson you want to take forward.
For builders and tradespeople
Browse free, review a consistent job record, ask before pricing, and spend a bid credit only when you bid.
- 01
Find relevant work
Use the job feed filters for distance, trade, category, budget, desired start date, completeness score, and whether a job is open or invitation-only.
- 02
Review the approved job record
View the approved specification and media provenance labels, so it is clear whether each item was captured live in the app or uploaded from a device.
- 03
Ask questions before bidding
Use structured questions to clarify the job before you decide how to price it.
- 04
Submit an itemised bid
State the bid type; labour, materials, waste and other costs; VAT treatment; duration; assumptions; exclusions; provisional and PC sums; validity; warranty; and payment stages.
- 05
Explain revisions
When a bid changes, submit the revision with its reason so the customer can follow the record.
- 06
Contact information after shortlisting
The customer’s full address and contact details are only revealed after the customer shortlists you.
Public beta pricing
Customers pay a posting fee for each published job and tradespeople spend one bid credit for each bid; browsing is free. During the public beta all prices are sample prices, checkout is simulated and real payment processing is not enabled.
Regulated work
Regulated work must be carried out or certified by suitably registered persons: Heating and gas — Gas Safe; Electrical work — Part P / competent-person schemes; structural work in Extensions — building control.
What to know during the public beta
- REFUR.BID is a public beta. The no-login demonstration uses sample data only and nothing in it is real.
- Real payment processing is not enabled. No payment details are collected.
- REFUR.BID is not a survey. AI output is a draft or recommendation, not professional certification.
- REFUR.BID does not certify structural, gas, electrical, asbestos or fire safety.
- A remote quotation is not a contract. Agree the work directly with the tradesperson.
- Regulated work needs appropriately qualified or registered tradespeople.
